Master Distiller Barry Young has been crafting this silver rum with the same painstaking process and attention to detail he uses to create his world famous, multi-award-winning Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka and line of Boyd & Blair Craft Cocktails. So, we figured it was only fitting to apply that same moniker here.
This change, however, is only skin deep: the rum inside the bottle is exactly the same.

You simply can’t expect to create an exceptional rum using sub par ingredients. Which is why every batch starts with only supreme baking molasses. This lays the foundation for the rich yet mellow notes of sweetness in our Boyd & Blair Silver Rum.

Instead of creating a traditional mash, Master Distiller, Barry Young slowly and carefully thins the molasses with warm water. It’s a slow-going exercise, but one we swear by as it allows us to protect the fragile sugars from getting burnt along the way.

Once the yeast is added, the fermentation process can begin. We permit it to run a long
21 to 28 days in open air tanks before distilling it twice in our copper pot still. Then and only then is it ready for the ultimate test: Barry’s highly experienced and discerning palette.
