At 80 proof, our smooth, creamy, award-winning Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka is the flagship product of our distillery as well as the base spirit used in most of our ready-to-serve cocktails.
WE START AT THE
The signature taste of our Potato Vodka is achieved by using champagne yeast to coax the sweetness from locally sourced Pennsylvania potatoes. Sure, grains and corn are more commonly used, but we’ve found that potatoes make for a creamier, more pleasant mouth feel.
While most commercial distilleries use the “heads” or “tails” of their distillate to increase output, our Master Distiller uses only the most desirable part of the run — the “hearts.” This ensures the slightly sweet flavor for which we’ve won many awards.

Quality control isn’t something that can be automated, which is why we rely solely on the instincts and experience of our Master Distiller as a means of determining when the distillation process is complete. In other words: we taste-test.
